Fallon looking forward to Stoute link

Kieren Fallon is relishing the opportunity to restore his link with Sir Michael Stoute.

Earlier reports suggested Fallon, who was recently handed an 18-month suspension after failing a drugs test in France, would spend the next year working alongside Stoute as his assistant trainer in Newmarket.

But while the six-time champion jockey is keen to dispel that possibility, he says he is very much looking forward to riding out again at Freemason Lodge.

Fallon said: "Yes, I will be joining his yard, but more like a work rider than anything else.

"I have received quite a few offers to train or to look after some horses, but I have been thinking about it in the last week and just didn´t think that I was ready for that yet.

"Riding is the only thing I know and I want to go back to riding at the end of the suspension.

"I have always thought that I would like to be with the Sir Michael Stoute team again. I got on great with all the boys when I was there and that´s what I would like to do."

Fallon enjoyed a fruitful partnership when riding as Stoute´s stable jockey from 1999 until 2004 before he joined the Aidan O´Brien team at Ballydoyle.

Stoute and Fallon teamed up to win the Derby with both Kris Kin and North Light, while King´s Best, Golan and top filly Russian Rhythm also provided Classic highlights.

Fallon added: "I really like Sir Michael Stoute. We have been very, very lucky together.

"I thought riding out at his yard would just get me back into the game and give me the feeling again, because the last three and half years have been a nightmare.

"I want to enjoy riding again and I think I can by being in Sir Michael Stoute´s yard.

"This will be good. I will be around good horses, I know how he works and I really enjoy riding out for him. I just want to go back enjoying it again. If you don´t enjoy it, you won´t be successful.

"Being at the yard will help me and hopefully I will be able to help him."

On a more personal note, Fallon is keen to take the opportunity to be close to family as he seeks to rebuild a tarnished career.

"As well as riding work, I can also see my kids more. I will get to spend some more time with them now and I am really looking forward to it," he continued.

"I think I will be starting in the yard shortly, but I also need to sort myself out first. That is very important.

"I´m thinking about going to America and getting my life back together."

Stoute, for whom Ryan Moore will ride as stable jockey for the first time this year, had earlier confirmed he would be happy to re-establish professional contact with Fallon.

In a statement, Stoute said: "I had a discussion with Kieren Fallon last night.

"If he bases himself in Newmarket I would be delighted to have him ride work on a regular basis."

Fallon is currently awaiting the result of his appeal against the suspension handed out by the French authorities following a race at Deauville in August 2007.
