Famous Name heads to York Famous Name, who just failed to peg back Vision D´Etat in the French Derby earlier this month, is to be aimed at the Juddmonte International at York. The Dermot Weld-trained three-year-old very nearly overcame an awful draw in stall 17 at Chantilly, and will stick to ten furlongs for the time being. Owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah, whose Juddmonte Farm sponsor the race, he will attempt to emulate Authorized who beat the older horses last year in his Classic season. "He went within a head of winning the French Derby from a 17 draw," Weld told At The Races. "We were a little bit unlucky with the draw - I believe we would have won otherwise. He´s come out of the race well and we´ll aim for the Juddmonte International at York. I imagine if he was drawn low he would have won." Famous Name was beaten a head by Vision D´Etat in the French Classic.
