Famous run depends on ground

Connections of Famous Name plan to walk the track before deciding on the colt´s participation in tomorrow´s Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The going is described as good to firm, conditions that may be too quick for the Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial winner, who is trained by Dermot Weld.

"There´s no decision yet. I haven´t talked to Dermot Weld on Friday morning but I´ll be speaking with him at some point," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah.

"I think we´ll probably have to wait and see a little bit.

"We might wait until Saturday but I´ll look at the forecast again and see if I can walk the track with Dermot."
