Festival bonus on offer at Leopardstown Bonuses amounting to ?100,000 are on offer to the winning connections of The Clarkson Financial Chase and The Robert Clarkson Memorial Flat Race to be run at Leopardstown on the 27th January next year. The Clarkson Financial Handicap Chase has a penalty value of ?35,000 and there is a ?35,000 bonus should the winning horse go onto to land a handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March. The Robert Clarkson Memorial Flat Race has a penalty value of ?13,000 and the race carries with it a bonus of ?65,000 to the winning owner if their horse can go on to win the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival 2002. The sponsors, Clarkson Financial Planning Consultants, are hoping to attract as many cross channel runners as possible for both races and there is a travel allowance of ?1,000 available to any horse trained overseas who runs in either contest.
