Five plum rides for McCoy

Tony McCoy has a book of five rides - all for his boss Martin Pipe - today as he continues to chase his record on the opening day of the National Hunt Festival at Cheltenham.

McCoy starts the day on 262 winners - seven adrift of Sir Gordon Richards` total - for the season but he has a number of fancied rides at the Cotswold track.

His first ride is on Westender in the opening Gerrard Supreme Novices` Hurdle, followed by Seebald in the Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase.

McCoy will be on Valiramix in the big race of the day, the Smurfit Champion Hurdle before partnering promising chaser Carryonharry in the William Hill National Hunt Chase.

His final ride of the day will be on Ideal Du Bois Beury in the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle at 5.05.
