Flagship in Champion field

Cheltenham Festival winner Flagship Uberalles heads the six entries revealed today for the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Celebration Chase at Sandown Park on Saturday.

'He`s on course for Sandown at the moment but we`ve still got three or four more days to go yet,' said trainer Philip Hobbs.

'Obviously it depends what happens nearer the time. If the ground is acceptable and the horse is all right the plan is to run.'

Flagship Uberalles has in the past shown a preference for an easy surface. The course at Sandown is currently being watered and the going is described as good to firm but Hobbs is not too worried at this stage.

When asked if he was concerned about the underfoot conditions, Hobbs added: 'Probably not as long as it doesn`t get very quick.'

The eight-year-old landed the Queen Mother Champion Chase last time with possible Sandown entrants Cenkos (third), Edredon Bleu (fourth), Turgeonev (seventh) and Fadalko (eighth) all behind.

He said:'He`s very well. He came out of Cheltenham very well indeed - we are very happy with him.'

There were no additional entries received after the race was reopened at the five-day stage with likely rank outsider Castle Prince the other horse in the Stg£75,000 contest.
