Wintry weather claimed its first victim of the jumps season when today`s English meeting at Hexham was abandoned this morning.

Racing was called off after an inspection found the track was unraceable due to snow and frost.

Today`s other racemeetings in England are on the Flat at Doncaster and over jumps at Uttoxeter.
