Godolphin snap up Tiznow sister

If you can`t beat them, buy them.

Godolphin have acted to avoid a repeat of last month`s disappointment by buying a sister to Tiznow - the horse who pipped Sakhee in the Breeders` Cup, Classic.

They paid 950,000 (Stg£650,000) for the foal at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

The filly will now got to Sheikh Mohammed`s Raceland operation in Kentucky before travelling to Dubai.

Godolphin`s winning bid for the foal was made by bloodstock agent Dick O`Gorman, who told the Blood-Horse: 'She`s an outstanding individual, and she`s got the pedigree.

'You always hope you are going to get them cheaper but it doesn`t work out that way with the right ones.'

Sakhee was beaten just a nose by Tiznow in the Classic at Belmont Park in New York a fortnight ago.
