First up is SI SENIOR in a 7f handicap and the topweight should gain a deserved victory. Pat Magee's four-year-old filly has been a model of consistency in defeat in recent times, keeping on well late in the day to finish fourth of 20 over 1m at Leopardstown off a mark of 59 last month before filling the same position there again next time over 1m1f when sent off favourite. The drop back to 7f shouldn't be a hindrance in this ground and she won a maiden sprint at Sligo on soft in 2023 so she should handle the heavy going. A big run is on the cards. 17:40 - Tai Tam Bay In the following 7f fillies' handicap, the progressive Indigo Five could take all the beating off topweight and couldn't have been any more impressive when winning last time. However, TAI TAM BAY gets lumps of weight off her and could give her most to do. The New Bay filly won a 6f handicap at Naas on her return around this time last year and will strip fitter for her solid third at the Curragh on her comeback outing last month. She came from a long way back to run a race full of promise under a 10lb claimer. Wayne Lordan takes over in the plate, which is a big plus, and she handles this ground perfectly well so it will be a surprise if she's not involved in the shake-up. 19:12 - Bynx The closing 1m6f handicap is a very weak affair with the top-rated runner working off a mark of just 59, and a chance is taken on BYNX to get her head in front. Despite finishing eighth at Navan last time in a much better race than this, she wasn't disgraced on the day, beaten around five lengths. Her last win came on heavy ground over hurdles off 105 at Tramore on New Year's Day of 2024. That would suggest that at her best she should be hovering around a 65-70 rating on the Flat, so with her running off 51 here and Wayne Hassett taking a further 5lb off in the saddle, she certainly has a striking chance at these weights. She comes with risks attached, but they all do here.
