Grand Plans For Tango

Alexander Tango is likely to take her chance in the Boylesports Irish 1000 Guineas after coming out of a recent Leopardstown win in good shape.

Tommy Stack´s daughter of Danehill Dancer appeared to appreciate the step up to a mile when slamming the Aidan O´Brien-trained Nell Gwyn by three lengths in the Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial on Sunday.

'She came out of Leopardstown very well and we´ll probably go for the Irish Guineas with her now,' confirmed Fozzy Stack, son and assistant to his father.

'She was very impressive the last day but we´ll probably have to take on Finsceal Beo next.'

Alexander Tango holds an entry in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, but connections could be tempted to bypass that race in favour of an audacious stateside mission.

Although plans are not yet set in stone, the 750,000 American Oaks has been highlighted as a potential port of call for the improving filly.

'Her long-term target might be the Hollywood Oaks at Hollywood Park on July 7,' continued Stack.

'If she goes to Hollywood then she´d probably miss Ascot as she´s had a busy enough start to the year. We´ll see how we get on first though.'
