Grandera sidesteps Champion Stakes Grandera will miss Saturday`s Dubai Champion Stakes, it was announced today.The three-year-old, placed in the French Derby, Coral-Eclipse Stakes and Juddmonte International this summer, is being rested by trainer James Fanshawe and will not run again until next season.Grandera, who started his campaign with a second place in the Dee Stakes at Chester in early-May and also won a Listed event at Newbury last month, was 6-1 co-second favourite for the Champion with Coral.But Fanshawe said: 'He will not run in the Dubai Champion Stakes.'He has been on the go since May 10 at Chester and he has put up some tremendous performances at the highest level this season.'We felt it best to retire him for the year after his win at Newbury on September 22nd.'Nayef heads Coral`s betting on Saturday`s Group One event at 4-1.
