Haatef Decision On Hold

Connections of Haatef are still in no hurry to decide on the colt´s next assignment.

The Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned runner disappointed when only 10th to Cockney Rebel in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

He is still in the Irish equivalent, sponsored by Boylesports, on May 26 but also holds an entry in the Group Three Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes over six furlongs on the same card.

'He´s back cantering and we´ll see how he shapes up before we make a decision on where he goes next. I´ll have to consult with the owner,' said trainer Kevin Prendergast.

'He´s in the Irish 2000 Guineas and Greenlands Stakes. We´ll play it by ear and see what happens. We´ll see how he is over the next fortnight.'
