Haatef Fine After Naas Romp Kevin Prendergast?s Haatef is in good heart after recording his first victory of the season at Naas on Wednesday evening. The 2000 Guineas disappointment bounced back to form with a five-length stroll in the Summer BBQ Race.Haatef holds an entry in the July Cup but after his staying-on victory over seven furlongs, a sprinting campaign is likely to be put on hold.'He just needed a race but he has come out of it well,' said Prendergast.'We probably made him do a little bit more than he should have but the race has done him good.'It was an ideal starting point for him really. He got the trip really well so I don?t see an extra furlong proving a problem to him.'At this stage I would say a mile is more likely than six furlongs ? but we?ll see what the day brings with him.'(C) PA Sport
