Haatef out for season Smart sprinter Haatef will miss the rest of the season after suffering a fracture. The four-year-old, trained by Kevin Prendergast, was to have run in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday week. "He fractured his hind cannonbone two days ago and has had surgery," said the County Kildare-based handler. "He´s recuperating at stud and will be all right in about four or five months." Last season´s Diadem Stakes winner, owned by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, was a best-priced 20-1 for the Group One feature over six furlongs.
