Haatef to return in Gladness

Diadem Stakes winner Haatef is likely to make his seasonal reappearance in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on April 13th.

Kevin Prendergast´s four-year-old returned to sprinting at the end of last season after appearing not to stay a mile in the Guineas and at Leopardstown.

And on his return to six furlongs at Ascot, he realised all his early potential in the Group Two event.

"Haatef will probably run in the Gladness on April 13th," said Prendergast.

"After that there is a race at Newmarket for him, the Palace House (May 4th), that´s the idea.

"I think we´ll stick to six and seven furlongs this year. We tried him at a mile and maybe he might get it at Goodwood or somewhere like that.

"He´s done well in the winter and there should be more to come from him this year."
