Harbinger shines in Hardwicke Odds-on backers were rewarded as Harbinger proved a different class to his rivals in the Hardwicke Stakes. Impressive wins at Newbury and Chester meant Sir Michael Stoute's colt was sent off at 8-11 for this Group Two and his supporters never had a moment of worry. The four-year-old travelled kindly throughout in the hands of Ryan Moore and he pulled right away from his rivals under hand driving in the straight to score by three and a half lengths from Duncan. Stoute said: "He was very professional and travelled so well. "We were very thrilled with him at Newbury. It was a good performance at Chester, but more workmanlike, but Chester is a tight track and he's a big, galloping horse. "We need to sit down and have a good old chat about the best thing to do." Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, said: "Sir Michael has obviously got the Derby winner in the King George and if he wants to run there we certainly wouldn't put him off. "He's such an exciting horse. Looking at him in the parade ring today you could see how well he was progressing."
