Henry impresses handicappers

Henrythenavigator´s performance in winning the 2000 Guineas has been rated on a par with that put up by George Washington in the Newmarket Classic two years ago.

The Aidan O´Brien-trained winner is deemed to have run to a mark of 121, 1lb in advance of the figure handed to Cockney Rebel after he won for Geoff Huffer 12 months ago.

"After discussion with Gary O´Gorman in Ireland, we currently have Henrythenavigator running to 121 and New Approach 120," said Dominic Gardner-Hill, deputy head of handicapping in Britain.

"This would make Henry´s performance 1lb superior to Cockney Rebel last year and on a par with George Washington the year before.

"That may well be subject to change once more evidence comes to light."
