Hills not worried about Muthabara condition

Richard Hills has played down fears about Muthabara´s condition ahead of Sunday´s stanjamesuk.com 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and remains fully behind his big-race mount.

Both trainer John Dunlop and owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum´s racing manager Angus Gold report the filly, who is the general 4-1 third-favourite following a winning reappearance in Newbury´s Fred Darling Stakes, to be backward in her coat.

However, when asked if this was a concern, Hills replied: "Not really. John sees her every day and she performed very well at Newbury two weeks ago.

"If the going remains on the easy side at the weekend that will not be a problem as she goes on it.

"We have always felt the filly would stay (a mile) so I´m very happy. I loved her last year and she´s nice to be around."

Hills also ran the rule over her main opponents, adding: "Natagora won very well the other day and I have the greatest respect for the Cheveley Park fillies (Infallible and Spacious).

"They look to be the main dangers."

Muthabara´s length-and-a-quarter defeat of Dream Day from an unpromising position took her career record to an unbeaten three from three.
