Hughes Hopeful for Youmzain Youmzain finished second to Dylan Thomas 12 months ago and his jockey Richard Hughes is hoping to go one better in Saturday's King George And Queen Elizabeth Stakes. He looked as good as ever when winning comfortably at Saint-Cloud last time, reversing Coronation Cup form with Soldier Of Fortune. However, while Mick Channon's five-year-old is consistent, he does have to be ridden a certain way to produce his best and that can cause complications. "He has to be ridden the proper way, there is only one way to ride him," said Hughes. "He was brilliant in France last time but I still think his Arc run last year (when beaten a head by Dylan Thomas) was his best ever - he had some very good horses behind him that day. "He did it very easily in France but he still only won by half a length, that's what I'm up against, he pulls himself up when he hits the front. "It's not easy riding him but hopefully everything pans out. "He is not that mad about going around horses, he'd much prefer to go through them, even if its not the quickest way. "All you can hope for is a clear run and that the best horse wins on the day - hopefully that will be Youmzain."
