Hurricane Run Heads Champion Stakes Field

Successful in the Budweiser Irish Derby and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe last year and recent winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot in late July, the Andre Fabre trained Hurricane Run is one of nine remaining entries after today's (Monday) forfeit stage for the Baileys Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.

In what should be a thrilling contest, Ed Dunlop's Ouija Board and Jim Bolger's Alexander Goldrun, who fought out such a memorable finish to the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood in early August, both remain in the field while Sir Michael Stoute's Rob Roy is the third overseas raider still engaged.

Aidan O'Brien has won this race on three occasions and has left in Dylan Thomas, Ace and Aussie Rules. Dylan Thomas was a very impressive winner of the Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh in early July before disappointing when favourite for the

Juddmonte International Stakes at York last month and connections will be hoping that the ground rides good or faster on Saturday while Kevin Prendergast's Mustameet is one of the most improved horses in training winning five of his six starts this season and this will be his first attempt at Group One level.
