Ibn Team Hopeful Connections of Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun admit Newmarket´s stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas represents by far his stiffest task to date. Trained by Saeed Bin Suroor for the Godolphin operation, the son of Dubai Destination completed his four-timer when winning at the highest level at Doncaster in October. But despite that smooth success, racing manager Simon Crisford feels he must take another leap forward to live with the likes of New Approach and Raven´s Pass on Saturday. "We´re very pleased with him, he´s had a fantastic winter and he´s done everything right," said Crisford. "The question is now whether he´s good enough or not but we hope he´s improved from last year. "He certainly needs to have improved because on the basis of his best form in the Racing Post Trophy, he needs to step up even more to be winning a Guineas," he told At The Races. "But he gives us the impression he has improved and he´s had a great winter so we´re hopeful of him putting up a really strong run."
