Imperial Out Of Caulfield Cup

Imperial Stride will miss tomorrow's BMW Caulfield Cup in Australia after failing to recover from a stone bruise.

The Australian stewards ruled out Godolphin's five-year-old after he showed some discomfort following a gallop earlier in the week.

A statement on www.racingvictoria.net.au read: 'Imperial Stride was found to have filling in his off foreleg when inspected by RVL veterinary surgeons today and was ruled unfit to take his place in the field.'

Kerrin McEvoy was due to take the ride on Imperial Stride in what was supposed to be his warm-up for the Emirates Melbourne Cup on November 7.

Imperial Stride's setback means Jamie Poulton's British raider Land ?N Stars will get a run in the mile-and-a-half feature.

The six-year-old was first reserve for the Group One after missing the cut for the 18-runner event.

Graeme Rogerson's Zipping, who is also well fancied for the Melbourne Cup, is another who comes into the field at a late stage after the withdrawal of Testafiable.
