International Option For Icon A trip to Woodbine for the Canadian International on October 22 is a possibility for Sixties Icon if connections of the Ladbrokes St Leger winner opt not to supplement him for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The Jeremy Noseda-trained colt powered to an impressive success in the world's oldest Classic at York on Saturday under Frankie Dettori, after which owner Paul Roy mentioned the middle-distance championship at Longchamp on October 1 as a target.'It was a class performance and he never looked in any danger of defeat. He picked up nicely and appeared to win a shade comfortably. Without any question he continues to improve,' the Newmarket handler told www.jeremynoseda.com.'It is a great result for the yard and rewards the team at home for all their hard work. It is also great for the owners Paul and Susan Roy, who are big supporters of the yard.'We will get the horse back home and assess whether we will have a crack at the Arc, for which he would have to be supplemented. The other possible race in my mind would be the International at Woodbine in late October.'Dettori will speak to Noseda before making any decision about which horse he will ride in the Arc.Speaking at Goodwood yesterday, Dettori admitted: 'I'm really not sure what is going to happen. I haven't spoken to Jeremy and I suppose he is waiting for the dust to settle before making any decision. He was very impressive but we'll have to see.'Dettori also has close links with Andre Fabre and he told Racing UK: 'Andre said don't sell myself too early as he may have something for me.'I was pleased to see Rail Link win (the Prix Niel) as that could be a possibility. I'll leave it in the hands of Andre, but don't forget there is still three weeks to go and anything can happen.'The ride on Fabre's Shirocco could also be a possibility if Christophe Soumillon is claimed by the Aga Khan for the filly Mandesha.Dettori took his family to Rome after the Classic success, and he quipped: 'It was a great night ? I finished last on my two rides there!'He added: 'It was wonderful to take the kids. Racing finished at midnight and there were chariot races ? and before you ask, no I did not want to ride in them - those guys are so fast, they are all completely mad.'Then there was an hour of fireworks and I eventually got to bed at 2am. I was up early and the kids were at the Coliseum in Rome at 10am this morning. We got to Goodwood at 12.30pm ? I'm not going out on the town tonight, I'm going home!'(C) PA Sport
