Irish Champion Option For Rocks Red Rocks is to be trained with a backend campaign in mind and has the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes as his potential next port of call.Brian Meehan's four-year-old won the Breeders' Cup Turf last November and connections are extremely keen for their son of Galileo to defend his crown later in the year.Of his next target, Meehan said: 'Possibly the Irish Champion Stakes (September 8). The target is the Breeders' Cup though and possibly then a winter campaign if he doesn't finish there.'Before that we'll have him back cantering and let him tell us where we go. The (big) prize money is abroad in the sense that there is the Breeders' Cup, Hong Kong and Dubai.'Red Rocks won the Gordon Richards Stakes in April before his assault on Royal Ascot's Prince Of Wales's Stakes ended with a fourth-placed finish behind Manduro.'The season for a horse like him is all year round, and you have to select your spots,' Meehan told At The Races.'We had the Prince Of Wales's as a spot for him this year and it just didn't quite work out.'(C) PA Sport
