J´Y Vole set to step up in Moriarty Willie Mullins is anticipating another big run from J´Y Vole in the Dr. P.J. Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Sunday. The youngster has quickly made a favourable impression over the bigger obstacles, winning both her starts by a distance this season. She will be stepping up to Grade One company for the first time since running over timber in France last June but Mullins is looking forward to the race. He said: "I think, hopefully, she´ll run on Sunday and I don´t think two miles and five (furlongs) should be any trouble to her. I´m hoping for a big run. "I think she could (go up to three miles) but I´m not so sure I´d want to do that this year. "She was a good staying four-year-old over hurdles, winning at Auteuil over two-miles-three, but she seems to have a good turn of foot too. "She could easily go back to two miles novice chasing. She jumps very well and I think that would be a big help running over two." J´Y Vole holds entries in both the Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy and the Royal & SunAlliance Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, as does her stablemate Pomme Tiepy. The latter is on a steep upward curve after completing a hat-trick in Grade Two company last month and will be out again soon - despite not clashing with J´Y Vole at the weekend. "I took her out of Sunday´s race and there is a three-mile Grade Two at Navan in a week´s time (Ladbroke Ten Up Novice Chase). All being well, we´ll probably head there," Mullins told At The Races. "Three miles around Leopardstown takes a bit of getting and I´ve just given her a little break since. "I felt two weeks between races - when they´re racing on soft ground over a trip - is too much."
