Je T'ai Porte makes most of opportunity to win Mares Chase In the absence of morning favourite Look To The West, the Gavin Cromwell trained Je T'ai Porte availed of a simplified task when making most of the running to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Chase at Limerick. In front from the first fence, the Keith Donoghue partnered 4/5f justified those odds with a largely impressive round of jumping. Aside from a mistake five fences from the finish, the seven-year-old put in a polished performance which ultimately landed her the spoils. Tracked by A Law Of Her Own for much of the contest, the latter was pushed along to throw down a challenge on the run to the penultimate fence. However, a slicker jump from the leader increased her advantage, while a big leap at the last sealed the win. A Law Of Her Own had no more to give on the run-in, eventually dropping to third as Justabitofyours ran on well to take second. Winning rider Keith Donoghue said: "She missed one fence up the back straight but is a good jumper and was entitled to win on ratings. The favourite (Look To The West) coming out was a big help and she just about saw out the trip today. "It wasn't a strong race but she got the job done. She has been a great mare, has won on the Flat, over hurdles and jumps and it is nice for Troy Cullen (race planner) who is involved with her and is a big part of the yard."
