King Ponders Crystal Decision

Alan King has yet to make a decision on whether his classy hurdler Crystal D´Ainay will make the switch to fences for the Betfair Bowl at Aintree on Thursday week.

A smart winner of the Rendlesham Hurdle at Kempton last month, the six-year-old was pulled up in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, but had previously been a winner over the larger obstacles in France.

King, who has popped Crystal D´Ainay over fences in preparation for the feature race on the opening day of the Grand National meeting, said: 'He has schooled extremely well and seems in very good form.

'He will certainly be entered for the Betfair Bowl and we will make a decision closer to the race.

'I am planning to school him twice more and see what else is in the race and what the ground is like before making the final decision.'
