Kingsmark heads 11 De Vere hopefuls

Kingsmark heads a field of 11 horses declared for the Stg£100,000 De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock Park tomorrow.

Martin Todhunter`s nine-year-old has won twice at the Merseyside track and also finished a fine second to Legal Right in the Tommy Whittle Chase on his last start there in December.

Ferdy Murphy has left in both Streamstown, winner of the Singer & Friedlander National Trial at Uttoxeter on his latest outing, and Hindiana.

Streamstown, the mount of Adrian Maguire, would be a popular winner as he is owned by a syndicate known as the Haydock Park National Hunt Partnership.

The Last Fling is another very much at home there and has been given the green light to run by Sue Smith with Richard McGrath in the saddle.

Champion duo Martin Pipe and Tony McCoy are represented by the mud-loving Take Control, while Mary Reveley saddles Robbo.

Robbo was pulled up on his last start but had previously chased home Red Striker at Haydock in the Peter Marsh Chase earlier thismonth.

Nigel Twiston-Davies` is also double handed with Welsh National third Bindaree, as well as last year`s winner Frantic Tan.

Jocks Cross, second to Frantic Tan last term, represents Venetia Williams.

However, conditions are set to be very testing and track must pass a precautionary inspection at 7am.
