Limerick Report Saturday Mr Medici was driven out by Declan McDonogh for a four-length victory in the feature race at Limerick, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race. Aidan O´Brien´s Greatwallofchina was sent off the 8-11 favourite but proved a disappointment, finishing last of the three runners. He had run in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and the Dewhurst Stakes at the end of last season, but despite being in receipt of 4lb, he could not trouble the winner or runner-up Provincial and was eased when well beaten. Kevin Prendergast´s Mr Medici, who was not beaten far behind 2000 Guineas fancy Jupiter Pluvius on his final start as a juvenile, went off a 9-4 chance and McDonogh always looked comfortable. He quickened to the front a furlong out and dismissed his rivals. The jockey believes the winner is the type who could win a decent race abroad. Enda Kelly´s Manhattan Beach (4-1) confirmed the promise of her debut second at the Curragh last week with a solid display in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fund Fillies Maiden. Runner-up behind O´Brien´s Georgebernardshaw last Sunday, the Captain Rio filly relished the testing underfoot conditions and quickened from the front to score, though she tired towards the end. Niall McCullagh brought his mount home three-quarters of a length clear of the joint-favourites House Rebel and Shauna´s Princess. David Marnane´s Dubburg made nearly every yard of the running to win the Tote Placepot Races 1 to 6 (C & G) Maiden. The 11-2 shot was given a positive ride by Fran Berry and he barely saw another rival in the six-and-a-half-furlong contest. The Johannesburg colt had a bit in the locker when required to go on and win his race and had two and a half lengths to spare at the line over Fast Hanna.
