Listed Glory For Triskel

The fine form of the Tommy Stack stable continued as Triskel ran out an impressive winner of the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown last night.

Jim Bolger's Kayd Kodaun set just a steady pace in front in company with stablemate Saoirse Abu and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Soinlovewithyou.

Plenty had chances swinging for home as a result, but it was Wayne Lordan's mount (14-1) who quickened best of all over a furlong out, streaking clear for a two-length success over the running-on Mad About You.

Stack's son and assistant Fozzy said 'We have always thought a lot of the filly. She scoped badly after her first run at Naas, and needed the run at Gowran last time.

'She was bought last year as a wedding present for (actress) Barbara O'Toole at Goffs sales. She's in the Million and that is the plan, but she needs ease in the ground.'

Gallistic ran out a cosy winner of the second Listed race on the card, the Jockey Club Of Turkey Challenge Stakes.

Cruising under Danny Grant swinging for home, the Pat Flynn-trained 10-1 chance found plenty when asked and readily held Reform Act by a length.

Owned by Sir Michael Smurfit, the winner could now head to the Galway Festival to contest a maiden hurdle.

Flynn said: 'That was a super. I didn't think she was quite right yet. The original plan was to run over hurdles at Galway and we might still do that.'

The win completed a good night for Flynn and Grant, who were also on the mark with Baby Blue Eyes in the Stilorgan Handicap.
