Logic in Guineas scare

Queen`s Logic was found to be lame this morning and could miss tomorrow`s Sagitta 1000 Guineas.

Last season`s champion two-year-old filly was found to be lame on her near fore and trainer Mick Channon faces a race against time to get to post for the Newmarket classic tomorrow for which she is favourite at around 7-4.

'We found out at 5.30 this morning. We`ve got a little bit of pus out of her foot and she`s a bit better. We`re just hoping that poulticing it and hot-tubbing it will do the trick. It`s just time really,' said a devastated Channon.

'She`s never had a lame day in her life.

'I just want everyone to know so that they can suspend the betting.

'We`ve just got to hold our nerve. She`s got to be sound today. We know what it is, it`s northing serious but it`s very annoying.'

Queen`s Logic was unbeaten in four races last season culminating in a breathtaking victory in the Group One Shadwell Stud Cheveley Park Stakes and she made a successful reappearance in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury last month.
