Loving Test For Turbo

Classic-placed All My Loving and bumper-turned-Group winner Turbo Linn clash in a fascinating renewal of the Goffs/DBS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster tomorrow.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained All My Loving steps up to the St Leger distance of an extended mile and three-quarters in search of her first Group success after being placed in the English and Irish Oaks.

Turbo Linn, on the other hand, bids to continue her rags to riches story by stretching her unbeaten record to nine. Alan Swinbank's four-year-old began life in National Hunt Flat races only last autumn and is now a Group Two winner thanks to victory in the Lancashire Oaks.

However, it is far from being a two-horse race as opposition in the 14-strong field includes French raider Synopsis, winner of a Group Three contest at Deauville last time, as well as Sir Michael Stoute's progressive Hi Calypso.

The latter landed the Group Three Lily Langtry Stakes at Goodwood on her latest start and four horses she beat that day ? Wannabe Posh (second), Trick Or Treat (third), Brisk Breeze (fourth) and High Heel Sneakers (seventh) ? take her on again.

Trick Or Treat has since finished a highly-creditable third to the brilliant Peeping Fawn in the Yorkshire Oaks and her trainer James Given is looking forward to running the four-year-old back over a longer trip.

'I don't think she got the credit for what she did at York. She was setting fractions faster over a mile and a half than they did in the Juddmonte the day before even though she was going two furlongs further,' said Given.

'She's going back up in trip which will suit her down to the ground, but on handicap marks she has got a bit to find with some of the other horses.

'At Goodwood when she finished behind Hi Calypso it was the first time Tom (Queally) had ridden her and he reported afterwards he felt he could have made more use of her in the middle of the race.

'I think he'll be be braver with the pace on Thursday than he was that day.'
