Lyceum heading back to Ascot Lyceum will try for a second victory at Ascot this winter when he lines up in the O´Callaghan Hotels Richard Power Novices´ Hurdle on Saturday. The six-year-old gave Richard Hughes a first winning ride since renewing his jumps licence when successful at the Berkshire track in December. "Richard will ride him again and the quicker the ground the better," said Lyceum´s trainer and the jockey´s father, Dessie Hughes. "Paul Nicholls´ horse (Elusive Dream) is fairly highly rated in it but we´ll see on the day. "If the ground continues to dry as quick as it is they are talking about maybe having to water, so the race might cut up enough." Although Lyceum holds an entry in the Anglo Irish Bank Supreme Novices´ Hurdle, the six-year-old is likely to skip Cheltenham and wait for a suitable opportunity at Aintree´s Grand National meeting. "He could be a Liverpool horse more than a Cheltenham horse as he may not be up to that standard," added Hughes.
