Lyons Issue Elletelle Warning

Ger Lyons has warned his rivals not to underestimate Queen Mary Stakes winner Elletelle.

The Elnadim filly caught Starlit Sands close home under Johnny Murtagh to continue Lyons' great run of form with his British raiders.

However, Elletelle is not currently in the ante-post betting for the 1000 Guineas and Lyons believes the filly has not gained the credit she deserves.

'She not just a precocious two-year-old, she'll definitely improve on what she has done so far,' he said.

'If she was in Sir Mark Prescott's yard or Sir Michael Stoute's yard or Aidan O'Brien's yard she would be favourite for the Guineas.

'She did nothing wrong. She's improving all the time and when those fillies have finished with her, they will know they've had a race.

'The race she made her debut in at Naas is as good a two-year-old race run in Ireland all year.

'Pencil Hill won and was placed in the Coventry, Elletelle was third and won the Queen Mary while another horse of mine, Remind Me Monday, was fourth and he is without doubt my best two-year-old.

'I let my horses do the talking but if Elletelle was trained at a big yard, she would be favourite for the Guineas like Attraction and Flashy Wings were after they won the Queen Mary.

'Until she doesn't train on, nobody can say what they have been saying.

'She'll probably go down the Cherry Hinton, Lowther Stakes route, depending on how she is nearer the time.'
