Macorville Handed Ebor Target Northumberland Plate runner-up Macorville will head straight for the totesport Ebor after George Moore decided against an outing in the Shergar Cup at Ascot this weekend. The four-year-old, who was agonisingly caught in the final stride of the Newcastle showpiece, has since filled the runner-up spot in a Listed race at York, where he will return for the Ebor on August 22.'He had a hard enough race at York and the ground is not going to be soft enough for him (at Ascot) so we are going to wait and go straight to the Ebor,' said Moore.'He was racing from a long way out last time but that is the way the races are run at York. He's in good order but I didn't feel like I wanted to rush him to get him ready for this weekend.'His last two races have come in desperate ground and they are bound to take their toll so the Ebor should fit in nicely.'We haven't thought about a jockey yet as he wouldn't run there unless the ground was right.'He will go hurdling ? that is the plan ? but we will just have to decided when we send him.'He'll do the job, no problem at all, as he is a lovely big horse.'Macorville is 16-1 with the sponsors for the totesport Ebor.(C) PA Sport
