Stormy Judge gained consecutive wins today at Navan as the Pat Fahy trained gelding landed the €60,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Final under jockey Danny Mullins.

Stormy Judge had failed to win in his opening 14 career runs but won on handicap debut at Naas in January and today followed up in Grade B company with a two lengths win over Enjoy D'allen

Afterwards Fahy reported “I couldn't be happier and it's just a pity the owners (the Byrnes) couldn't be here as this is major for us. I was delighted, as that was the plan.

“We had always targeted this race as it was the only place we were getting three miles.”

He added “we thought we had a great chance but of course when you get closer to the event you see a thousand things going wrong. He's a novice and hasn't that many runs over fences.

“We'll look for another race like this and then make a plan.”
