Mandesha Tackles Arc Prep

Mandesha is set to warm up for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by running in the Prix Foy over the big-race course and distance next month.

Connections of the four-year-old filly have had the Arc at Longchamp on October 7 as the target all season.

Mandesha bypassed the Arc last autumn, winning the Prix de l'Opera instead, recording her third successive Group One triumph in the process.

She was last seen chasing home Peeping Fawn in the Nassau Stakes over a mile and a quarter at Goodwood.

'She finished well and came back perfect. She lost no weight and I think she's getting better and better,' said trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre.

'I think she stays 12 furlongs. She is going for the Arc with a prep run three weeks before in the Prix Foy.

'It was the objective at the beginning of the season to have her very well for the Arc.

'She likes Longchamp. It would be good to go there for the big race.

'Last year she was better in the autumn than in the spring. The Arc was not an objective last year and she was not so good but this year the Arc has been the plan,' he told At The Races.
