McCoy`s treble tops

Tony McCoy scored the first hat-trick of FA Cup Final day. The champion jockey rode three of the first four winners on the card at Southwell, whose programme had a morning start so as to avoid a clash with the football in Cardiff.

He kicked off with victory on 11-4 favourite Tara-Brogan for Ian Williams in the Top Tips Novices` Chase and followed up on Brendan Powell`s King of Mommur (6-1) in the fromtheterrace.co.uk Handicap Chase.

And McCoy completed his treble when 9-2 shot Comex Flyer landed the Come Racing Novices` Hurdle for Paul Nicholls.

A Stg£1 treble on his three winners would have returned Stg£144.37.
