McCoy in treble form

Champion jockey Tony McCoy continued his remarkable winning run with a 36½-1 treble at Taunton today.

McCoy, who is chasing Sir Gordon Richards` record of 269 winners in a season, is now on 223 winners for this campaign.

He took the opening race, division one of the Ideal Wedding Reception Novices` Hurdle, at the south-west track on 4-6 favourite Gone Far for trainer Martin Pipe before following up in division two on Pipe`s Dubai Seven Stars at 5-1.

Ron Hodges provided McCoy`s final winner of the day when he lifted the Taunton Racecourse Exhibition Centre Handicap Hurdle on Tosawi, the 11-4 favourite.

Conditional jockey Anthony Honeyball was taken to hospital after suffering a suspected broken leg at the meeting.

He was on board Goldoak in the Staplemaid Seminar Suite Maiden Hurdle when the pair were brought down following the fall of the Timmy Murphy-ridden C`est Deja Vu.

Honeyball received medical attention at the track before being transferred to Taunton General Hospital, while Murphy returned unscathed.
