McEvoy On Standby For Dubawi Kerrin McEvoy admits that he would jump at the chance of partnering Dubawi in the Prix Jacques Le Marois on Sunday week if Frankie Dettori is not ready.Dettori has been in Sardinia recovering from a broken collarbone that he received when falling from Celtic Mill at Sandown early last month. The Australian is Dettori´s understudy at Godolphin and has deputised for him in the last few weeks, as well as at Royal Ascot at York when Dettori was suspended.Dettori plans to return to race-riding a couple of days before the Deauville Group One, but McEvoy told The Times: 'It´s true there is some doubt and it´s a very tricky thing with collarbones.'I have never broken one myself but I´ve seen plenty who have. Hopefully, Frankie can get enough rest and still keep his fitness up but I´d be rapt to take over if he´s not ready.'Dubawi, the Irish 2000 Guineas winner, has not run since his gallant third to Motivator in the Derby but McEvoy believes the rest has done him good as he returns to a mile for a clash with French sensation Divine Proportions.'I´ve ridden Dubawi a couple of bits of work in the past week and he´s in very good form - he seems to have benefited from a freshen-up,' he reported.'It´s going to be a good race in France and I´ll be prepared if Frankie can´t make it.' ?
