Money Continues To Pour On Derby Favourite

Vodafone Derby favourite Authorized is down to even money with Coral as support continues to 'flood in' for Frankie Dettori´s big-race ride.

The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained colt won the Dante Stakes at York in great style and has had the bookmakers on the run since it was confirmed Dettori would keep the ride.

'Authorized´s credentials as a Derby favourite are impeccable and with Frankie Dettori certain to attract immense pubic support on the day, he will definitely be odds-on come racetime' said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.

Chapple-Hyam is hardly lacking in confidence, either.

He said: 'He seems fresh, he seems well and there are no problems so far. He will canter most days and probably do a bit of work on Monday.

'He is a lot sharper, he´s on the ball. He went with River Alhaarth on Tuesday. Normally you´d have to make him go, as he´s that lazy a worker, but he came just upsides him on the bridle.'

Chapple-Hyam said Dettori is more than matching him in his enthusiasm about the Derby.

He went on: 'I have dreamed about this since before he ran first time out. I have been sleeping quite well, but I´m excited.

'Frankie´s like a two-year-old, he keeps ringing me. Keeping Frankie calm will be the main thing. I just tell him ´you´re the best rider in the world, ride him like that´.'
