Morning set for Hennessy run Snowy Morning, ante-post favourite for the John Smith´s Grand National, could spearhead a three-strong Willie Mullins raid on Sunday´s Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown. The County Carlow trainer´s trio will face a maximum of seven rivals in the Grade One event, which is set to feature Mossbank and The Listener. Mullins said: "I have three in the Hennessy and Rule Supreme and Hedgehunter run at the moment. "I have to talk to the owners of Snowy Morning and just have a bit more of a discussion about it, but I´d probably be keen enough to run I think. "It would get him good experience against those types of horses in a top-class race. "It´s a lot of prize money and I think third or fourth in the Hennessy would be nice. "The other option would probably be to go for the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse towards the end of the month, which Hedgehunter won before he won the National." Mullins was slightly disappointed by the handicapper´s decision to hand Snowy Morning 10st 12lb in the National weights but is likely to gear the remainder of his campaign towards Aintree. "We ran in England in the SunAlliance and got his mark and I felt that´s the mark he should stay at," Mullins told At The Races. "If I´m lucky we´ll get two runs into him before the National - that´s probably enough. I probably won´t go to Cheltenham with him this year. "I have him entered in two or three races but it might just be a bit too close to the National." While Snowy Morning´s participation in the Hennessy on Sunday is yet to be set in stone, Mullins is looking forward to getting Rule Supreme out again. The former Royal & SunAlliance Chase winner reappeared after a lengthy absence when finishing a long way behind Hi Cloy last month. Mullins said: "I think he´s in great form but I was disappointed with how he performed at Thurles the last day. "However, that was a two-and-a-half-mile race and he needs to go three miles before he gets into his gear as he´s an out-and-out stayer. "He´s not the best jumper in the world, but I think we need to get a pilot who will stick with him and just accept he has his own way of jumping. "He´s had two years off but he´s got a great engine in testing conditions over a trip."
