Morrison pleased with stable stars

Marble Arch and Frenchman`s Creek are 'firing on all cylinders' according to trainer Hughie Morrison.

The pair are said to be none the worse for their exertions at Cheltenham last week and the trainer is considering where to send them now.

Marble Arch was a three-length second to Hors La Loi III in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle while Frenchman`s Creek was an impressive winner of the William Hill National Hunt Handicap Chase.

Morrison was thrilled with their performances and says they have come out of their races well.

He said: 'Marble Arch took his race well and he`s come out firing on all cylinders, they both ran away with their respective jockeys this morning.'

But the trainer admits that future plans for his charges are not yet set although he is leaning towards a tilt at the attheraces Gold Cup with Frenchman`s Creek.

'It`s tricky really. I`d like to run Frenchman`s sort of around Aintree time but there`s not really a suitable race. He`s only eight and he`s still an improving horse so we all decided not to run him there (in the Martell Grand National).

'He`s in the Irish National but that`s pretty doubtful. He`s off his old weight in the Whitbread so that would be something which we are obviously seriously thinking of.'

Marble Arch could now be heading for a rematch with his Cheltenham victor Hors La Loi III at the Grand National meeting.

Morrison added: 'Marble Arch, if the ground is good will probably go to Aintree.'
