Moyglare Or Lowther On The Cards For Dubai

Royal Ascot winner Nijoom Dubai could step up to seven furlongs in her next race as connections consider a tilt at the Moyglare Stud Stakes later in the season.

While the Lowther Stakes remains an option for last week´s surprise winner of the Albany Stakes, it is also possible she will be granted a stiffer test of stamina after staying on well to triumph at Ascot.

In landing the odds by a length and a quarter in the Group Three test, Nijoom Dubai was defeating Aidan O´Brien´s well-backed 7-4 favourite You´resothrilling.

'I would have thought her next likely objective would be the Lowther or the Moyglare,' said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Jaber Abdullah.

'We might step her up to seven furlongs because I don´t think she´s necessarily that quick.'

While Nijoom Dubai was sent off at 50-1 in the Albany, Raymond says the win was not altogether unexpected.

Prior to the Royal meeting, she had been placed in maiden company at Newbury and Folkestone.

'Had she won at Folkestone we would have been very keen on her but we couldn´t understand how she was beaten there,' Raymond continued.

'We thought it was a canter for her and she´d have a nice easy race before Ascot.

'But I guess she just went up the wrong side of the track and even going into her first race at Newbury we thought she was pretty useful.

'She came out of Ascot very well and she´s a good ?doer´ ? there weren´t any problems.'
