Murtagh appeal date set

The Appeals and Referrals Committee will hear an appeal next Tuesday (September 30) from John Murtagh against the seven days suspension imposed on him at the Curragh last Sunday.

The former champion was found guilty by the stewards there of making insufficient effort aboard the Eddie Lynam-trained Dangle, who stayed on well into fifth on her debut behind Amalie Bay in the six furlongs two-year-old maiden.

Lynam is also appealing against a 750 euro fine for allegedly using the racecourse as a training ground.
