Murtagh appeals Curragh ban Johnny Murtagh has appealed against one of the two careless riding bans he picked up at the Curragh on Sunday. The Ballydoyle jockey has lodged an appeal against the three-day ban handed out after Westphalia finished second in the six-furlong two-year-old maiden. Murtagh was also banned for two days later on the card after his winning ride on Tiffany Diamond but is not appealing that decision.
