NASMATT BEATEN IN FRANCE

Mick Channon`s Nasmatt finished second in the Listed Prix Zeddaan over six furlongs at Deauville today.

Cash Asmussen`s mount showed good speed throughout on a heavy track and only the German raider, Sign Of Nike, proved too good.

The Stephen Davies-ridden Sign Of Nike took over going to the final furlong which prompted a spirited response from Nasmatt but Channon`s charge failed by a short neck.

Brownise was third three lengths further back in a field of five.
