New Approach out of Derby New Approach, the even money favourite for this afternoon´s Dubai Duty Free Derby at the Curragh, is a non-runner. Jim Bolger informed the public on Friday evening that the colt was not 100% comfortable with a foot bruise. The situation did not improve sufficiently during the interim and Bolger made the decision early this morning to scratch his star colt from the race. "New Approach does not run," said Bolger. "Obviously it is disappointing but these things happen in racing. "We have no idea where he will go next. It will have to be discussed with the owners." Epsom Derby runner-up Tartan Bearer is now a best priced 11/10 favourite for this afternoon´s showpiece.
