Newmarket to host Sagaro Stakes The Sagaro Stakes, which was due to be staged at Ascot tomorrow until heavy rain caused the meeting`s abandonment, has been saved and will be run at Newmarket on Saturday, the British Horseracing Board announced today.Entries for the two-mile Group Three contest, which will carry a total prize fund of #30,000, will close at noon tomorrow.Lisa Hancock, Newmarket`s managing director, said: 'We are delighted that, once again, Newmarket is able to help out by hosting another important Pattern race.'The presence of the Sagaro Stakes on Saturday will complement a fantastic day of quality racing here at Newmarket and we are only too pleased to be able to accommodate an exciting event for the stayers.'The Levy Board has agreed to provide the prize money for the race.The HBLB Sagaro Stakes will be run as the seventh race on the card at 5.20pm on Saturday with the Antiques Roadshow Conditions Stakes put back to 5.50pm.
