Nightime Retired By Weld

Last year´s emphatic Irish 1000 Guineas winner Nightime has been retired.

The daughter of Galileo romped to a six-length success in the Curragh Classic before finishing last of 15 in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot the following month.

'We ran her in the Coronation afterwards last year and she pulled a muscle quite badly and then I never really got her quite right,' said trainer Dermot Weld.

'So we decided to breed her to Holy Roman Emperor and I´m delighted to say she´s safely in foal.

'We´ll see what happens and let´s hope she stays in foal and the future will take care of itself.'
